Love and Birthstones Necklace - Happy Birthday Claudia!

I could go on and on about the awesomeness of my neighborhood.

Sorry if you have an awesome neighborhood with awesome neighbors...I WIN!

Our quality of life improved enormously once we moved to here in July 2012.

One of my wonderful neighbors is Claudia.

Kendra, Claudia's daughter (one of my besties too) commissioned an extra special necklace.

Claudia's fantastic family includes: 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 2 son-in-laws and one funny husband.  This chaotic group is a massive portion of her life, love and time so I decided to devote the necklace to them. 

Love and Birthstones

 

Just the facts...

• 28" Mixed media chain (14" antique bronze rolo chain, 10" hand-wired 1950s vintage glass pearl chain, 3" vintage gold spiral chain - completed with an antique bronze toggle clasp)
• Vintage hammered gold metal "eternity" circle/ring
• Antiqued dark brown round charm engraved in French with: "JE T'AIME PLUS QU'HIER MOINS QUE DEMAIN" = I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow
• Hanging from the eternity ring and in front of the French charm are the birthstones of those she loves the most: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Diamond, Emerald, Pink Tourmaline and Gold Quartz (both represented by glass pearls for aesthetics) and Zircon. 
• Mixed within the chains of birthstones is a tiny antique bronze heart
• My final piece was a gold cross mixed in amongst the birthstones.  This is a family with a strong sense of faith.  Not only does Claudia love God and Jesus "more than yesterday, less than tomorrow" but her children and grandchildren feel the same.

It was an honor to make a necklace for a wonderful worman and an amazing family.
